What is Sheol
So, what is the intention of the process of «The Dark Night of the Soul». Let me in a short introduction mention the Jews have different interpretation of the Sheol than Christians:

We can speculate what happen if we die if we have NOT taken this process; The Dark Night of the Soul, to be rebirthed (John 3:3, Ezekiel 36:26, Galatians 6:15 ) ? When can we be cleansed than – it is too late in death, in Hades or in Sheol ? In Sheol we have no will to choose anything, we are dead there, completely and for ever dead !
IF: We die after rebirthed, THAN we are not dead in Sheol, we are living citizens of Gods Kingdom, we will be rised from our graves says Revelation, and be judged. The dead is dead, nothing to judge.

As a navigator, we have the «long hours watch» at ships at 4-8 in the morning. Just before dawn, the light slowly rise over the horizon, it is so difficult than to stay awake at that time. It is the time of night we are in the deepest sleep. Such is the times we live in. The darkest hours, before dawn.

The Dark Night of the Soul is the period in the abyss, in total darkness, hidden from the face of God and good.
